OpenSUSE again

Mar 16, 2023

Generally, I’m not one to do the whole distro hopping thing that one hears about a lot from various Linux users. Overall, I find that I generally keep some form of Arch Linux Manjaro installed on all of my devices - though I do find that I’ve done some kicking around with GNU Guix which I have found fascinating.

However, I find that I’ve not used any form of SuSE linux in nearly forever. While it wasn’t the first Linux distrobution I ever tried (that falls to RedHat 4.2? I think, could be earlier) it was a distribution that I had settled on for quite a long tenure during my, um, formative Linux growing years. I remember - fondly - purchasing many (many) actual boxes of SuSE linux distrobutions. Crazy, I know, but sofware used to actually be sold on a shelf, from an actual store, on physical media. Oh the insanity!

I figure I’ll give openSUSE Leap 15.4 a try. I’d tried the 15.5^beta earlier this morning, but it didn’t seem to like me. Sure, I could opt for Tumbleweed, but I get enough rolling fun with Manjaro.
